I think the wife and I are going to the next meeting just to listen to what happens. I mean really, this has gotten to the point that they are going to start escorting people out of there. Everyone knows my stance on consolidation and really, I think this whole thing has gotten out of hand. For instance, the long haired dude up ther always causing a scene, think his name is Conner McCoy, nobody really takes him serious and more. Even his buddy from Pound, Mr. Greear doesn't.
I hear people talking about what a "savior" the Rivers and Cornett are, but what a lost of people don't realize is that they started this current fiasco at least 2 years ago. Rivers made his brags that there was money to consolidate into 3 different schools and Betty backed him. Then, all of a sudden they both flip-flopped and turned the whole process upside-down. IMO, they both will be given the boot come election time. I told people when Cornett ran for the SB that she would be trouble and I was right. As she was trouble on the BOS when she was appointed to it after her first husband's death. I also said Rivers would make the whole county look like a "factory" for manufacturing clowns. Again, I was right. How quick people are to forget the past transgressions of the two people when it suits their purpose.
The whole thing is alittle crazy at some point something has to give and it looks like we will have to wait till the end of the month to find out what the situation for next year will be

NO, it was Larry, he was one of the most humble men you would ever have known. He died several years ago very suddenly and she was subsequently appointed to fill his seat on the BOS. He was former Miss USA pageant winner Leanza Cornett's uncle. I think she won it in 1992.
I was just wondering, doing calls for the campaign I had to call a David Cornett and it was that household - or at least betty answered the phone. He sounds like the complete opposite of her, which is a very good thing.
You are exactly right about that. They were both all in favor of consolidating into three new schools when the county had even less money. It's funny...at the last board meeting, Ms. Cornett said that people from Appalachia didn't want to and would be Vikings and that she "had never thought that and would never think that." I guess before, when she thought that, she just didn't care.Quote:
